How does it work?
The TVL detector relies on the submissions of TVL sightings made by visitors of the website.
The results of these collective submissions are to:
Take away the TVL’s main scare tactic, namely the element of surprise.
Monitor TVL’s past and present geographical activities.
Visualise TVL’s main target areas.
Anyone can report a TVL sighting. These sightings, after validation, are then shown on the TVL detector’s map.
Additionally, the TVL detector has a build-in early warning system, which allows for email notifications to be sent to you in case the TVL has been spotted near to a given postcode area. If you want to know more about these notification requests then please click here.
Submit a TVL sighting: the Form
Reporting a TVL sighting is very easy and you can report as many sightings as you want.
On the form select what you have spotted; either TVL staff or a TV detector Van - including the Van’s registration plate (if memorised).
Tell us when you spotted the TVL by clicking the calendar on the form. You can submit sightings from today and back into the past.
Next step on the form is to let us know in which area you saw TVL activity by selecting the first part of the postcode for that area from the drop down menu.
Enter your email address and re-enter the code shown in red. The purpose of the code is to avert electronic spamming of the TVL detector application.
Last but not least is the option to leave comments regarding the sighting e.g. a description of the TVL employee; ‘bully with a clipboard’.
Click Submit sighting
'do something good and get good Karma!'
Validate and visualise the sighting: the Map
Soon after submitting the sighting you will receive an email, which includes a link to validate and automatically activate the sighting so that it appears on the map.
Watertight?
The combined efforts of visitors submitting TVL sightings will certainly be a blow to the unrelenting scare and threat tactics carried out by the TVL (for decades now).
The success of the TVL detector, however, depends entirely on you folks out there.
The TVL detector is not watertight - i.e. someone must somehow be confronted by the TVL in the first place in order to warn others.
Keep your eyes open and report TVL sightings as soon as possible.
Help each other, do something good and get good Karma!
