The article is taken from the British Telecommunications Engineering, Vol. 3, Oct 1984 and it describes the TV Detection Van’s principle of operation.

The introduction states that detection started in 1930; that is bullying the British into buying a (TV) Licence for 80 years! - almost a century of intimidation, legalised by the government and endorsed by the BBC.
